2. Opportunity to change our perspective

Reminds us we are not of this world

Conviction, faith,
Believe in God doesn't base on circumstances
Even if not.... I should still trust God
What does God like? If I based on what I like, it's not going to help me grow.

When God gives us suffering, what do we do with it?
- So that the works of God might be displayed in/through Him.
- Different items to display treasures of God's Glory
- Connecting through suffering

Doesn't take pain away, but it re-frames it.

Abraham- wise, Isaac- influence and resources, Jacob- raising this raw generation and passionate
Ministry for the church
Sonship
1. Lays down his own vision and serves vision of his father, like Joseph
2. Stays no matter what, culture of Ruth, Elijah and Elisha
God honors when you are true to your sonship
3. Always looking for opportunities to serve
4. Covers nakedness of their father, Genesis 9

Generational Transfer
Roman 8:14-17
Need to make sure I only pass on good things
One can transfer blessings, or they can transfer damage and curses
Psalm 127:1
Children are blessings
God builds hows through revelation to his leaders
God builds his house relationally
God builds generationally so that it will last
Galatians 4:4-7
God wants sons and daughters in His house.
Sons build and own house; Servants serve and rent house.
Sons hold father's heart and success as own; servants take while sons inherit.
Do I know God's heart?
Sons are family oriented; Servants are mission oriented.
Blood of Jesus is much more than earthly, racial, ethnic blood.
Sons use language of family; Servants use language of ownership
- Family terminology
Sons honor headship and hides leaders' nakedness; Servants trade and exposes.
- Some struggle with authority.
Let God break you.
Get your act together, so that it doesn't transfer to our kids.
Leaders that God placed in our lives. Instead of cursing, pray for them.
Sons follow chain of command; Servants question it.
Sons bind people to the father; Servants bonds people to themselves.
Sons share inner conversations; Servants share only what they want you to know.
Sons are secure and can handle discipline, criticism, mistake, change; Servants blame others.
Pray for intercessors to come into our lives.
Pray for someone to correct us.
- Can I handle correction?
- Own up with integrity.
We just want others to 'like' us.
Sons focus on welfare of people; Servants focus on appearance.

Hope- anchor for the soul
Intimacy- takes time
Desire for thrill vs. Adoration
Empathy is easy when there's distance.
Evil pleasure- at expense of another person
Good pain: allow myself to be confronted
Continual Intimacy
Repentance leads to pain
- shared pain leads to empathy
- empathy leads to intimacy
To the point of no return
We pursue God so much we miss that He is calling us.
Desperation into Expectation.
When God raises a leader. He sets them apart.
- Isolate. In our eyes rejection, in God's eyes separation
- Inner Healing. perspective should align with God's
Samuel has no idea why he's born, grows up in Eli's house

- Worship s the desperation of wanting to give but prophesizing what God gave in order to give back.

When we want to understand, look up and ask for interpretation
Ask God to give us gifts and interpretations to bless others.
- Selfishness in only wanting to be blessed by others
Worship Him in a secret place. vs. Looking for people who's listening.
Discerning Word of the Lord

When God/Jesus speaks, he is speaking to the whole body
God spoke His word to Israel by speaking word to Samuel. (one body)
Pursuing Radical Middle
- Word and Glory become One
We cannot separate God's word from His Glory
2 Cor. 3:17
- Moses' face being covered
- Paul says: Glory glowing and grows
An increasing Glory, Glory to Glory
Veil over face, veil over heart
Pursuit of God's Word always come with Glory

Faith - present, Hope - future, Love - operate from love
2 Peter 1:3 God already gave us Godliness

1 Corinthians 12:12-31
- God arranged the arts in the body
- many parts, but one body
- seem to be weaker are indispensable
- parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor
- not presentable are treated with special modesty
- no division in the body
- equal concern for each other
- one part suffers, every part suffers
- one part is honored, every part rejoices
Eagerly desire the greater gifts.
